Extend Your Research Nationally With Us
Founded by Yale Research Investigators, Trusted Medical Research Institute (TMRI) conducts evidence-based healthcare research nationally leveraging physical Regional Extension Centers in 24 states.
What is the
Trusted Medical Research Institute?
TMRI is the 4th largest independent clinical research network in the country. The Institute functions as a resource to extend the research capabilities of academic medical centers and outside organizations, and allows for direct collaboration with Yale researchers, one of our main partners.
We manage physical Research Extension Centers™ in 24 states across the United States, giving researchers access to a nationwide network of direct-care clinics, merging key aspects of successful clinical trials from rapid, diverse participant recruitment, trial execution, and consumer market engagement. Along with our partners, we can scale subject matter expertise, virtual engagement, and onsite subject engagement at an unprecedented scale.

Research
Spotlight
TMRI is rooted in evidence-based research. We believe that research should infuse all levels of care and patient experiences to truly improve patient outcomes and are dedicated to moving potential improvements in medicine forward by participating in research projects that educate health care providers and potentially benefit patients.
Health & Weight Registry
The Ella Health & Weight Registry is our newest research initiative at TMRI. The registry provides a pool of consented volunteers that provides longitudinal health information based on periodic surveys of self-reported data. The Health & Weight Registry documents the experiences of people 18 and older with a BMI of 27 or higher. Participants who sign up for the registry may be connected to future clinical research studies related to weight management and obesity.
A Registry-enabled Accelerator for Trials
This initiative is designed to accelerate the path from bench to bedside for individuals affected by obesity. To do this, the Yale Researchers and Trusted Medical have created a participant-centered registry and research community. The registry potentially serves to:
Accelerate trial enrollment for obesity trials by creating a pool of prequalified trial participants
Deepen understanding of the lived experience with obesity
Assess awareness, perceptions, and impacts of new treatment strategies
Engage individuals in a shared learning journey to create an optimized experience for obesity trial participants
Enable rapid, trustworthy, and respectful clinical research
Reduce the delay in translating innovations into health gains
